The Charon Mapping module uses MapInfo, a multi-layered Geographical Information System (GIS) mapping facility, to provide the following:

• Map the entire cemetery, showing all relevant geographical information
• Show spatial images associated with a site (e.g. memorials, pictures, inscriptions)
• Integrates database records with digital representation
• Used in Charon Touch Screen to provide site specific information to the public
• Print a Map that identifies exact burial / memorial location
• General Land Management
• Site Information - Owner, who is buried in which site
• Inventory Management - Available sites for sale
• Capacity Planning - capacity, feasibility, maintenance, re-use / redevelopment
• Simple measuring tool - point-to-point, area or perimeter
• Store permanent utility maps

Due to the advanced technology base of Charon Mapping, GIS maps can now be provided on Personal Digital Assistants (PDA's) via an additional Charon Mapping module - Charon Mobile Maps. This module puts the entire cemetery's map on your handheld device and enables your staff to perform searches, view thematic (colour coded) maps without being confined to the office computer.
