Concerning Axiom Business systems: The Cincinnati Catholic Cemetery Society (CCCS) contracted Axiom Business Systems in May 2005 to perform a full upgrade of our existing computer systems to the fully integrated Charon Cemetery Management Suite. After considerable research and investigation, the Axiom solution was chosen for a number of reasons. Firstly, the component range offered was much more inclusive than others available in the market. Now with the full integration of our new record keeping, financial and mapping systems, we have a “One Stop Shop” partner in Axiom who can support us in all these aspects of our business. In addition, Axiom’s prices reflected a very competitive value, especially, given the quality of the product. Our choice of this solution was further confirmed after our existing IT consultant conducted an extensive evaluation of the Charon software, determining that this was indeed a strong and functional management product. We were at parallel processing stage within six months and the implementation across all three of our cemeteries was systematically phased-in over twelve months. Now that CCCS has the system up and running, we have already begun to see the following cost efficiency gains. We now have a fully automated Accounting, Sales and Mapping system. We anticipate cost savings in personnel overheads, while at the same time freeing up key people to devote more time to better serving our families. Already we have minimized human error and reduced the storage requirements of our aged and faded documents. Another exciting improvement has been to gain more direct responsibility of our remote cemeteries through having a centralized source of information management. In the very near future we anticipate being able to optimize the results of our Sales Program, through the use of the demographic functionality that is part of the Charon Mapping product. This technology will allow us to track the most likely success areas for our salespeople to focus their efforts, thus making best use of our resources. Other options available for us to consider are the use of Charon Touch Screen Information Kiosks, strategically located throughout our cemeteries. A further innovation available to us with the Charon mapping system is to be able to use hand held computer devices so that the entire property inventory of our cemeteries can be shown to families either in the office or on the grounds of the cemetery or in the comfort of the family’s own home. In working with the Axiom team, I have found the management and staff to be willing to listen and consider changes concerning our questions and ideas with this major project. Furthermore, I look forward to our ongoing partnership in the future and continuing to improve our cemeteries’ efficiency and productivity with the use of the Charon system.

To whom it may concern: Springdale Cemetery in Peoria, Illinois, is nearing the completion of a successful installation of the Axiom developed system. The success is due to the capability of both the software and the Axiom support team. Springdale has certainly provided a true test of the system capability for many reasons. This historic 150 year old cemetery and mausoleum covers about 280 scenic acres. It has gone though about 20 different owners, each with different record keeping systems – all manual. This was the first venture into computer systems for the operating staff. Also the conversion of the fragile, illegible and often erroneous data to digitized records was a very arduous and labor intensive task. Furthermore, the rugged and hilly terrain was very difficult to map the 70,000 interments. Also, it was necessary for the software to cover all aspects of cemetery operations including accounting, payroll, marketing, ownership records, interment records, deeds, mapping, etc. Through it all, the Axiom staff and Springdale Staff have persevered to achieve success. Yours sincerely, Tatyana Dunavetsky The installation of Charon, the only fully integrated cemetery record system (data, accounting and mapping), is almost completed at all four cemetery sites operated by the Adelaide Cemeteries Authority. The benefit of inputting data information once into the system reduces significantly the error potential of a multiple input system. To have our mapping updated in minutes has streamlined our public enquiry system (touchsreen), and the locator maps generated from the touchscreen ensures easy site identification. To now have the same service available on the internet is very exciting. Charon is only the beginning and the basis for expansion into a whole range of IT functions that can be applied to the cemetery industry. Axiom Business Systems were contracted to supply and install an integrated suite of programs into Centennial Park including Charon Cemetery Management, Charon Mapping and Accounting software. This project was completed in December 2001 when Charon 5.0 was installed. Staff of Centennial Park and Axiom worked closely together to successfully deliver a stable platform for our cemetery management systems. As part of the project, Axiom delivered on-site training of Centennial Park staff, not only to familiarise them with the systems, but also to ensure that utilization of the systems was maximised. Since its full implementation, the system has been robust and Centennial Park has experienced minimal systems downtime enabling us to efficiently conduct our business. Since the initial implementation Axiom and Centennial Park have worked closely together to upgrade the system to Charon 6.5. A close working relationship between staff at Axiom and Centennial Park ensured that the upgrade was achieved with minimal impact on the day to day operations of the Cemetery. The Authority continues to strive for ongoing improvements to the management of the cemetery through the use of computerized systems. The cemetery management system is a cornerstone to achieving this outcome. Recent enhancements introduced via the system have reduced processing times in a number of work functions allowing for greater efficiencies of operation. The ability of providing location maps via the public inquiry systems has been a real bonus to the Authority saving many hours of staff time while providing a real customer service. Axiom’s tailoring of the system to meet the needs of Centennial Park’s and the specific legislative requirement in South Australia has delivered a practical and functional system. I have known Anne and John Field for a number of years in their capacity as proprietors of Axiom Business Systems. Axiom Business Systems is a member in good standing of the International Cemetery and Funeral Association. A supplier of software to cemeteries in the United States, Axiom has participated in the ICFA in a variety of ways, sending representatives to our 2001 Convention and Exposition in Las Vegas, Nevada, and our 2001 Small Cemetery and Funeral Management Conference in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
